About Edward Boersma
|
My family and I moved to Prairie Village in 2019 to raise our children. We were attracted to the neighborhood community, beautiful trees, and the walkable lifestyle. The idea of a safe single-family community built for everyone was, and still is, the wonderful attraction of Prairie Village.
My wife, Melisa, and I have been married for 23 years, and are blessed to have two wonderful sons, and two rescue dogs. When we moved to Prairie Village, my youngest son enjoyed a new level of independence in being able to ride his bicycle to Indian Hills Middle School. This was an opportunity not previously available to him and is part of what makes this community special. He is now a senior at Rockhurst High School. Our oldest son enjoyed the relationships he made in Prairie Village and taking advantage of the parks near our house. He is currently attending college at the University of Kansas. My wife and I continue to enjoy walking in Prairie Village and the friends we have made in our neighborhood and at the local restaurants. |
I am the owner of Boersma Enterprises. My work is focused on business development and investment identification/development. Prior to establishing Boersma Enterprises, I was the Director of Origination for Commercial Resources where I created and managed customer relationships with real estate companies and high net worth individuals while directing our origination team for commercial real estate financing. After college, I was recruited by Halliburton Energy Services to run surveying and formation evaluation tools on rig sites and was then recruited to work on Halliburton’s cutting-edge software development team. I was very successful in this high-stress, fast-paced oil and gas industry.
My degree and education in Mechanical Engineering has trained me to solve problems and deliver results. Throughout my career I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. I have enjoyed communicating and working with executives, commercial real estate professionals and investors, engaging with team management and leadership, performing business and data analysis, in addition to selling and promoting new business concepts. I believe I have the experience and training necessary to serve my community and be an effective member of the Prairie Village City Council.
